First days of summer.
Have coffee on the terrace.
Fill the pool.
Just soak it up. The sun. The warmth. The summer.

Bubbles
We have upgraded our entertainment equipment from last year.
Kid got this bubble gun from his grandparents and there was no chance to avoid testing it immediately.
It's ten degrees outside, and in my opinion it's too cold for summery outdoor fun. Apparently, I am very, very wrong.

My sous chef
The kid loves taking part in, well, everything. So we give him little things to do, like taking napkins to garbage pin and carrying socks from the dryer to the closet. But what he loves is help with cooking.
I hate mess, so for me it's an effort. To keep myself from telling him what to do or what not to do, not to make mess, to be careful, and so on. And yes, there's flour EVERYWHERE, but if I focus on the kid's happy face, it's okay. And actually, he's pretty careful and precise in his actions.
I've decided that Saturday's are pizza days. After a working day I just don't have the energy for cooking anything fancy but still, it's weekend, so I'd like to put something nice and tasty on the table. I just need to come up with new recipes as in my pizza the only thing that's ever different is whether I top it with parmesan or mozzarella.
Enjoy your weekend!

Lovely weekends are made of...
... long, proper breakfasts.
... adventures and treasure hunts in the forest.
... being creative and getting started with Christmas decorations. Cones are the result of the mentioned treasure hunt.
... eating well.
Have a lovely week!

Let it rain
I have recently learned two things. First, I don't function very well in over 22 C degrees. So I love that it's getting cooler and I love the rain showers.
Second, a two-year-old is tall enough to reach the door handle and open the back door. Naturally this happens right after a massive rain shower.
Actually, I have learned a third thing too. If you really want to learn to enjoy rain, ask the said (or any, I guess) two-year-old. He knows how it's done.

A day of summer
Or actually, it's the third day of summer this year.
It's been a cold and wet summer. So on a warm and sunny day like this, you have to make the most of it. Two-year-olds are good at that.
I bet it's the lack of sun why my sunflowers are not blooming yet. All they've done is grow ridiculously tall.
My vision of this was to have a beautiful yellow flower bloom against the white fence. Oh well.

My hoods
We don't quite live in the middle of nowhere, but it's right around the corner.
I love living in these surroundings, where it's quiet and not all is covered in concrete.
Kid loves to explore. He probably thinks he's gone where no man has gone before.
I love that here, it's safe to let him wander by himself (well not TOTALLY by himself, he's two). No puddle is left untouched.
My little man.

Building blocks
The kid loves his Lego Duplos. And building towers with dad.
Tower building, for us, is a chance to start giving him some building blocks for life. Such as anger management if a block refuses to co-operate. Most of the time, though, it's all smiles.
Theses bigger blocks make mum smile. Great storage for those duplos and other toys. Only we need a dozen more.
Apparently they're perfect for seating as well.
