Vallila Emerald

Our next big renovation project is the hallway. And how else do you start a huge, tearing down walls and re-doing the whole floor kinda renovation than by buying a rug.
And since you haven't even started your project yet, you actually have no place for the rug.
So you place it in the living room, where it's a bit too small but you like it anyway.
It's exactly the pattern you've been looking for and exactly in the right colours. And it cost 69 euros only. Now all that needs to be done is to take down a few walls and lay some floor tiles.

First advent

For the occasion, I forced on some Christmas spirit. Actually, playing some carols and going through the decorations worked.
I love how the kid is drawn to and amazed by all things christmasy. It's nice to start building traditions and memories for him.
I've come down with a flu that has developed into ear, sinus and toncils infections, so I don't mind cuddling up on the sofa in the candle light.

Day off

Ever since I became a mum and especially a working mum, I've forgotten how to just BE. How to do nothing.
Most of the time, I work six days a week, 10 hours a day. The days off are then usually spent doing whatever needs to be done around the house.
On my day off this week, I took on a project that at least created an illusion of me doing nothing. I have a huge pile of old magazines that all contain one or more interesting recipes. So, a cup of coffee, a pile of magazines and a comfy position. Almost a day off.

Rattan

I have developed "a thing" for rattan.
While searching for the perfect rattan chairs, I'm scratching my itch with smaller items.
Our home is very grey & white, and I like the natural warmth rattan brings, even in small amounts.
