Enamel

Summer is coming, outdoor kitchen will be built, and old enamel pots and buckets will make perfect decoration.

A great flea market find for 15 euros.

The impatient person that I am, I wanted to make use of these immediately. That is right NOW. So for a while, they serve as planting pots for tete-a-tetes.

Vallila Emerald

Our next big renovation project is the hallway. And how else do you start a huge, tearing down walls and re-doing the whole floor kinda renovation than by buying a rug.

And since you haven't even started your project yet, you actually have no place for the rug.

So you place it in the living room, where it's a bit too small but you like it anyway.

It's exactly the pattern you've been looking for and exactly in the right colours. And it cost 69 euros only. Now all that needs to be done is to take down a few walls and lay some floor tiles.

The globe

In a (desperate) need for a night light in the kid's room, I decided I wanted a globe. A good, old-fashioned globe.

I was lucky enough to find one on a Facebook fleamarket for 10 euros.

The colours work well with the rest of this very tidy kid room.

In addition to being in a phase of not being able to sleep in the dark, the kid is also going through a phase of imitation. Wonder where he get THIS from.

Colourful kidroom

Our home is white, black and grey. Except for the kid's room.

This room was done over a year ago, and I still like it. Walls are a neutral colour, textiles and some of the furniture are bright, happy colours.

Bookshelf was an online find for 10 euros and I painted it white & blue.

This drawer we've had for years and when it was placed here, I painted it blue and changed the handles. It stores all the kid's clothes.

The room is a combination of old and new. IKEA Hemnes daybed was purchased new, as well as the rug and all the fabrics for the cushions. The stool in the above picture belonged to my grandma; it's not very neat but I like it the way it is, a bit rugged.

The elephant is vintage. It used to be mine.

Rattan

I have developed "a thing" for rattan.

While searching for the perfect rattan chairs, I'm scratching my itch with smaller items.

Our home is very grey & white, and I like the natural warmth rattan brings, even in small amounts.

In my kitchen

There are some details I'd now change in our kitchen that I designed two years ago.

However I like the overall black & white look.

The wooden sign behind the stove is an old DIY project.

And eventhough I'd like quartz countertops more than laminate ones, or I'd love a new steam oven, our kitchen works perfectly for what it's meant for (and what I love to do): cooking.

Lazy mornings

Oh how I love them.

We're always up by 6:30 LATEST, but then we take our time in making the bed and changing out of our pj's.

I often work on weekends too, so sometimes our lazy mornings happen on Wednesdays.

Baskets are new from Ikea, much needed for a pillow hoarder like me.

Wallpaper love

I absolutely love the wallpaper in our hallway.

Soft blue tone brings a little colour among grey floor and white and black furniture.

Our hallway in all is a mixture of styles, new and old; wardrobe and drawer are from Ikea, but only the wardrobe is new. Drawer is an online find and it used to be a changing table and not black. Rattan basket belonged to my grandmother and the chair to another.

Shoes are from H&M and can only be worn on days when no walking is needed.

Bouquet

Heavy rain knocked over some of the higher flowers in the garden.

Now they're a lovely bouquet on top of granny's old cabinet.

I'm spending this rainy Sunday afternoon indoors after visiting some flea markets in the morning.

My husband and the little fellow are on boys' vacation for four days. So I can stay curled up in the sofa corner and have a coffee. My fifth. Because for ONCE I get to finish them while they're still hot.
